How much airflow (in cubic feet/minute) would a 2.2l NA engine experience at WOT, and 6000 rpm? Need to know for reasons .

Assuming a four stroke and 100% volumetric efficiency (it can be higher!), it is drawing 2.2L*3000/minute, so 6600L/min. This works out to 233CFM average. There will be pulses higher and lower as the valves open and close.

It’s fairly simple math...

Assuming the engine is a 4-stroke and has 100% volumetric efficiency, it takes in 1.1 liters (half of the displacement - a 2-stroke takes in its full displacement) of air per revolution at WOT.

1.1 l/rev   * 6000 rev/min = 6600 l/min.

At this point I resort to the Google to convert 6600 l to ft³, and get a result of 233.077 ft³/min.

Thank you! I think it works then; just wasn’t sure if the s/c I was looking at was big enough. Can confirm now it definitely is.

The engine in question has about 59% volumetric efficiency in its current state of tune...

Awesome. Thanks for the math, makes much more sense now. Can confirm the supercharger would be big enough for this application :)
